Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

Friday, February 8, 2013

Mack arrived last night and got a platelet transfusion. He didn't get much sleep due to so many people poking him. He also had to share a room. When I got here this morning (Mark and I are doing shifts) he had just finished his blood transfusion. It was a rough night all together!

Then about nine this morning he had a central line inserted. This procedure took about an hour and a half, so Mark and I went down stairs to sit. It was very emotional to leave your baby in an operating room as he went to sleep-that was my first time. I will admit I lost it as I left! But, my sweet boy came out of it very sleepy. He was a little fussy when he got up and then sat around and ate...until something started to hurt! Then we saw the same inconsolable behavior as in the past. After some pain medicine, he is fully engaged with his trucks and play dough listening to some great tunes. As I'm typing this we are listening to some oldies-both of us are bopping our heads:)

Mark and his dad just left to spend time with the other two and my parents are on their way up to hang. Any minute he will receive the new medicine for the next six hours!! It's one more day closer to the end.

One positive for today: he is having fun playing with his trucks!!!

One negative for today: I learned this little man can't do any swimming with this line in-good bye summer for him!

Thank you all again for all the support.
