Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

Do you think we have a future?

I know I posted this weekend already, but this was so funny! So, what do you think? Do we have a future in music? Probably not with the parents they have. They seem to work well together. Enjoy!

Arts and Crafts

Going back to work was the worst thing I have had to do and lately I have no time with my babies. On Wednesday of this week I got to see them for 30 minutes in between meetings. With all of these sad emotions, I am also excited and happy we have found Miss Mallory. We are thankful everyday when we come home and find all the fun things Avery and Mack have gotten to do! She is full of energy and (we feel) truly loves our children. In the past few weeks Avery has changed dramatically with her language and Mack is so expressive. In fact, the other day I was trying to get a smile out of Mack and as soon as Mallory walked in the door his eyes lit up-this was sad and happy for me. Sad because I realized he does spend more time with her and happy because he loves her and it makes leaving a lot easier. With all this said, I have included a few pictures and videos of all the fun crafts she has done with our children!

Fun with corn starch and water

Look at what she painted!

Sibling love

So I know there is going to be many fights and arguments in our future, but for now these two truly care for each other. I think having the girl first helps! She is such a nurturer and he is in awe of her. I believe these two are going to be close and have really built a bond with each other. We are impressed by their actions toward one another. Granted a picture can not capture the nature of their actions. Mack loves to watch her and Avery is loving feeding, burping and caring for him. Below are some pictures to try and show how they act together.

Milestones

As I get the news tonight that we are having another snow day, I am very excited because I get to snuggle up with my babies. I am so overwhelmed with how much both babies are changing. Even though we just went through all of this with Avery last year, I am amazed at how much they change every day. I think it is funny how much I have changed as well. With Avery I was always waiting for the next "milestone" to happen. Now I can see how different every child is.

I started looking on-line for different ideas for each child because I knew we would be inside all day and again realize how different and remarkable each one is. When looking at milestones, I get frustrated because I feel these make you think your child should be doing all these things. When really we should just stop and enjoy what they are doing at this moment.

I was making dinner and Avery brings me these Baby Einstien cards and is sitting there making a monkey sound and then an elephant sound. When I glance down I see she is looking at a monkey and an elephant! Others might not think of this as a big deal, but to me I couldn't believe it! How do they learn like that? As I am on the phone telling my mom about this, she stops and goes to get the same cards out of the pile...wow! If we could learn as fast as they do we would be brilliant. Then there is Mack-rolling over at 3 months, reaching for objects and always observing. I guess my point of this post is to reinstate how amazing these two little people are (and every baby). They are all so unique and a true gift from god! I love stopping my crazy life and just enjoying what they are doing rather than waiting for what they will do next.

Baptism

This is a long story to tell because it was such an amazing day! We have the best family and friends who supported us and made the day special. We are very proud of our baby boy-he did great. Below are pictures from the day...they are not in order because I am not doing this correctly, but below are captions.

The cousins were all there

After about 15 takes and Heidi finding a space (because she was hidden in the other pictures) we finally got a family picture (again, minus Avery-she sleeps a lot)

Snow Bunnies

We had a snow day last week. It was so cold, but Avery was very interested in going outside. After 30 minutes of getting ready we finally made it out...only to last for a minute. It was way too cold. Here they are in a laundry basket filled with blankets:

Since then our thoughtful Nanny has bought us a real sled. Mark and Avery tried it out last night:

Silly times

The first video is Avery feeding Cooper. She was off by herself when I was changing Mack and when I came into the room she had the lid off the food and was giving our fat dog some more food. It was so cute.
I
We can't believe how fast this little guy is growing! I just happened to be filming him this day and he rolled over for the first time-at three months! He is so strong!

Avery is obsessed with chapter books

I had to put these in first! I got Avery in her first ponytail!

This was the day Avery decided it would be fun to sit in mom and dad's bed and read her "big" book. Most kids want to read books with pictures...not Avery:)
