Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

Because She is the Only Girl!

Yes, I know Avery is only two years old, but if she is going to be our only girl-I am going to live it up!

Nanny's birthday was last week and because I am always searching for gift ideas beyond the objects-we decided a girls day out was in order!  She raised all boys so we thought this would be great for her memories and a great bonding experience with Avery.

We started talking to her about our day with Nanny on Friday-she was very excited and talked about it all weekend.  Even though we were still going to St. Louis Friday through Sat.-she held on to the idea.  In St. Louis she talked about getting her toes done (and seeing Elmo, which is this Tuesday) to Mum and Papa.  We had a great time hanging with cousins, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Brent, and Grandma and Papa!  It was great to be included in a fun night with family!  I forgot to get my camera out so I only have a few pictures from STL.

After a crazy couple of days (Mark moved all our furniture around the house and moved in the new furniture by himself-I am still trying to figure out HOW he did it) the kids were exhausted!  When Mark got Avery up on Sunday morning her first words were, "toes purple!" She was obviously  thinking of this while she slept.

Here she is ready to walk out the door with mommy!

We started at Panera where we all had breakfast!
Then, after we realized all the salons were closed on Sunday, we found one that opened at noon.  So to kill time we did some shopping!  Avery was a trooper and loved looking at stuff for her new baby brother and her new baby girl cousin.
After all the build up, she didn't want her toes done.  Instead she sat on my lap and had a snack while watching very intently as they worked on Jane and myself.  I think she will warm up to the idea.
She did however want her finger nails done!  This was easy and she got purple nails (we all got purple nails thanks to Avery).

If Mark and I are done having babies, then I am going to embrace everything I can do with our only girl!  It was fun to share the day with someone who didn't have that!

This past weekend was packed!  Avery and Mack went to their Grandparents house for the day on Saturday-this was the BEST thing ever!  Mark and his brother Jack were able to get the babies room painted and I was able to clean the whole lower level-normally it has to be done in chunks.  We thank Uncle Jack, Nanny and Papa H. for this help.

Sunday the kiddos woke up WAY TOO EARLY, so we decided to embrace the day.  We were hosting family dinner for Jane's birthday (Mark's mom aka Nanny) and needed to get her gift ready.  First they painted craft sticks so later we could hot glue them into the word NANNY-forgot the picture on this.  Avery had a blast and Mack was having fun until he lost it.  So crafts this day weren't the best...

Then they made cards-these went a little better because it only required their hand prints.  They turned out really cute.  This is a Pinterest idea!

Then the whole Watson family came over to celebrate.  Luckily, Aunt Heidi and Aunt Meagan made parts of the dinner so my stress level was 0!

The cousins have really started to play together.  Avery and Cohan held hands and ran around the house.  Soon, Mack will be right there.  There is something different when your friends are your family:)  Cousins are fun!  Hopefully there will be lots of playdates and we can give each other breaks!

I love this picture of all them!  Corn on the cob is the best!
Cohan and Avery get to go to Sesame Street Live next week-should be fun if they don't get scared.

Another weekend full of family.  We are very blessed!

Pretty Sure We Are Trained

I think we have made it. Avery is fully trained! She no longer wears any diapers (minus naps-pull ups and night time). We can go anywhere now and she will tell us when she has to go. I am so proud of her and her independence! Just now I found her doing this...

I really hope I haven't created a germ phoebe...I just talk about how "yucky" toilets are in public.  It was too funny to not write about!

IT'S COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With about a month to go my nerves are getting the best of me.  On Tuesday, my head wouldn't stop hurting-hurting so bad I had to call my doctor.  I was a little worried because I had preeclampsia with Avery and a headache with blurry vision is a sign.  So they got me in right away, but everything was fine and they sent me off with some prescription for my head. After talking to Mark, and my mom, I came to the conclusion it has to be how I am carrying stress.  I have so much to do!
My family is getting pretty tired of my stress level, but wouldn't you be stressing too? I know the baby doesn't need much-just love and snuggles. It's just hard to know that you spend so much time on the first and even the second arrival and then the third comes along and there isn't much to do.
I have my count down and my schedule around the house. Mark has been very supportive about getting things done. So far we have re-done our pantry to create more room, organized Mack's closet so he can share (it is HUGE), cleared out the garage, and cleared out a ton of things from upstairs. Who knew we had so much stuff-even after we have done this two times before!
Along with starting Little Gyms this week we did have a nice Wednesday surprise:
This is our third crib!  They all transform into full sized beds, so we couldn't give any of the other two up.  We want to thank my parents for this beautiful gift-we couldn't be prepared without you!

This weekend Mark, and hopefully some other help, will be painting this room (even though it will remain a guest room, I have a feeling it will turn into one of the boys).  Thankfully Mack and Avery will get to go to their Nanny and Papa H's house, so we can work.  You don't realize how much you can get done until they are out of the house:).  Thank you again for this support!!!!  Avery and Mack are pretty excited.

Having three babies under 2 1/2 is very stressful, but if anyone can do it, I think Mark and I as a team can do it.  So I need to calm down and let it happen.  The most important thing right now is my family of five (quoted from my mom).  Nothing else matters!!!!!  This post is my way of letting out a little stress as well as sharing our progress!

Dinner Time Blues

Evidently when I need to cook dinner my children decide that is the time they need me most ;)  I guess it's because I have something to do that doesn't always involve them.
It's usually a time they begin to fight or become just moody.  I remember my mom telling me how hard that time of day was with me and I didn't realize it until there were two.  I try to include my children as much as I can, but sometimes I just need this time.

So now, after reading a post from the Kid Friendly blog, I realized they needed a little more structure during this time.  So this night was coloring in an egg cartoon-who knew huh?
A daily activity is pulling the pots out.  Fine with me!  I even fill them with some water!
This time has been filled with whatever is on our craft shelf (that I showed before)!  It has worked and we are all a little happier.  Thank you for the idea.

Family Filled

This was truly a family filled weekend!  Since our "snow day" Mark had been very busy, so we were lucky to have him take a day off on Friday.  Which meant he got to enjoy the kids at the library for some singing and dancing.  Then, we headed to the best pizza place ever-Shakespeares!
As you can see they were pretty happy with this.

I didn't have my camera out very much, so I am missing a lot from our weekend.  My parents came by on Friday and we all went to dinner together-then they spent the night.  That next day, after they left, we had a friend over, went to dinner, and visited Uncle Jack and Aunt Meagan!  The kids left their house exhausted from running around and slept until 8:30 this morning.

When we woke up on Sunday, we had a small breakfast-here is Avery's plate.  She thought it was pretty funny.

We have been extra busy around the house getting ready for baby #3, so furniture is being sold!  I got rid of a couch today and Mark's brothers came over to move some other things out.  This meant cousin Cohan came to play for a short time.

And for dinner...Papa H. came over (I was lazy and had left overs)  I did however get the camera out for these shots.  Pretty cute!

Thank goodness for family!

Our First Day with Snow

From living in the north most of my life snow days were pretty rare.  When we lived in Minnesota the only time we would get out of school was because of the cold!  So when the weather people called for snow yesterday I figured it would be light and we would go along with our business (minus my husband who has to be out in it-he owns a snow pushing company).  Not today!  I woke up early and turned on the T.V. to see that we had no school.  Since I don't work full time this year-missing a day is a little different now.  There is so much to do!  I put that aside and figured I could make it up tomorrow, so today was a day to play!

They loved looking outside and seeing all the snow:

Then we made a feast!  Scambled eggs, pancakes, and turkey sausage.

After a major explosion of bathroom issue,s I decided to throw them into the bath and play with some new toys-this required new PJ's.  The wind is really cold today making it about 4 degrees outside, so I figured we would have more fun with the snow inside...
They loved it!

Such an explorer.
To end our morning we had snow slushies.
We hope others were able to have some fun on this random snow day.

We Thought we Had Lost It

Lately my two monkeys have been fighting non stop!  Mack has been purposely pulling her hair and in turn, Avery pushes him down every time he comes near.  Now the biting has started.  Literally, I FEEL LIKE I AM RAISING MONKEYS.

I am not saying that they don't still do these things, but the last couple of days they have been very loving towards each other.  Avery's new thing is to have him sit in her lap-I hope this continues...nope she just bit his foot!  Well, at least we had a few good moments.
You can't see it in this picture, but Avery put her tooth into his head a few weeks ago (not on purpose)

The stories we will have-you can't make this stuff up!
