Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

New Adventures at This House

The new year brings new adventures.  We have hit the activities hard this year!

Instead of toys for Christmas, we have been thinking of activities for the kids.  They are getting older and spend a lot of time together.  It's good to get them around other children.  Mark's parents were thoughtful to get us a pool membership this summer-it's right down the road and the kids enjoy their time there.  It's a perfect gift for Christmas when the weather is so yucky.  We are thankful!

My parents got Lincoln a membership to Little Gyms.  If you can tell by my posts, Lincoln has a lot of energy and needs to be around more people.  Little Gyms is perfect!  This was such a fun activity to do when I was working part time and got to go with Avery and Mack.  As much as I hate not being with Lincoln during this time, I know he will have the best time.  Thank you Mum and Papa!

Mark's mom (Nanny) raised three boys and never got to go to dance.  Now that Avery is ready, she gets to share this experience with her!  Nanny got Avery her dance outfit and takes her to dance class.  We are very thankful for this and know it's a special time for the two of them.  Avery had her second class on Monday and seemed much more into it.  They are already learning movements and tried walking on their toes.  I love the place we have decided on!  Thank you Nanny!

And what do you do with the third child who is asking to go somewhere?  We decided to try out a gymnastic (gym) class.  Luckily his cousin Cohan was interested too!

One of my college students (who teaches the class) has been telling to bring Mack because I was trying to find something that would be safe for him.  She had also worked in his classroom so she would be a friendly face.

Since Avery has dance on Mondays, Mark took Mack to Flipz.  The boys loved it...I guess we are signing him up!

I thought we had a few more years before we started so many activities, but it's hard to not get them all involved.  Right now Little Gyms is during the day and Mack and Avery are on the same night, but this sure does give us a glimpse of the craziness ahead.  Mark texted me tonight ,"I love this craziness and we will miss it someday."  This was after we all ran out of the house in different directions!

It will go fast!

Everyday Livin....

Sometimes it can be hard not staying home and missing out on everyday activities...

but nothing is hard when we know our kids are loved, activities are planned, and they get to have play dates with other kids in their class.  Some times I get to be there for drop off and pick up (and the occasional pop in), but Meme is the one that gets them dressed and out the door in the morning and then has the energy to take them to Chucky Cheese!  Last week it was the mall!  If I can't be at home with them, this is the next best thing.  We are so thankful for our "third" parent.  I can't wait to share her with my wonderful friend this winter and next year.  Lincoln will love having someone younger than him-Baby C, our crew is ready.

Yesterday was a hit!  They loved getting to have a special event after school.

All these bring a smile to my face at work-especially during parent teacher conferences!

Happy Friday Post

Here's a random Friday post!  This is our week through pictures:

Mark and I (and my dad) are running a 5K on the 27th-we are in training!  Papa H. was nice to walk with Lincoln so we could run on the trail with the other two.  We could see them for miles away.

There is no stopping this guy.  He wants to be like his brother and sister so bad.

These three were ready for the Cardinal opening day

They get to go to their first game in a couple of weeks.  They can't stop talking about all the food they get to eat!

Go Cards or Go Home-is what they're saying

Avery likes to get herself ready for bed...this is how she came out of her room:)

Daddy brought this home-his new dump truck and Mack was full of excitement

On the trail

Happy Friday everyone!!  We get to go see baby Clydesdale's tomorrow!

HOME

Our time at home has been full of play.  The weather has been cold and snowy, but we had a break this week and temperatures were warm.  The evenings were filled with time outside.  They have been happier and sleeping so much better.

Last week was a happy week!!!  Hopefully this week brings the same for us.

Back to Life...Back to Reality

Holidays, Holidays, Holidays!!!  I feel like we were so consumed by the holidays.  It's back to life and back to reality.  No more staying in our PJ's all day and playing with our new toys.  This momma was ready to get back to it and more motivated to work and workout than ever before.  That is probably why the new year feels so fresh and revitalizing-you are burnt out from the holidays!

We did a lot of family activities over the break and we also got some play dates in with friends.  The only time I thought to take pictures was this day with their friend!  Corrine came over with her momma and they played for about three hours while the mommas got caught up!  Thank you Sara and Corrine-we can't wait for another break!

We have only had one day from last week and a few days so far that were "normal", but starting this week is a typical work week, typical 5:45 in the morning work outs, and SWIM LESSONS.

In the past I have taught the lessons-in return a free membership to the gym, but no more!  I want them to learn from someone else and I want to just pay for my membership-so not worth it:)

At the beginning of this week we will jump with two feet in to our normal lives and get back into some kind of routine!!!!!

But Sunday we played (because we decided to drive back from the lake and they all fell asleep-which messes EVERYTHING up!!!)  So we played.

Three, Two and 4 Month Pictures

It's so hard to get pictures with these three! Our nanny had a photo session with them and of course Mack and Avery woke up with colds and didn't want to take pictures. I think she did a great job getting them and I am pleased to have what she captured!!! It's much better to have them done at home.

She brought this Lincoln Log bucket...so cute!

Now, I thought it was hard getting Mack and Avery...try these three!

This picture is so cute!  That is my Samantha doll from my childhood.
This one melts my heart!

Lincoln was not happy this day, but we managed to capture his awsome smile!

I think the one below is perfect!
