Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

Because Two People Fell in Love

We are very blessed to be surrounded by people happy in love! Mark's parents are coming up on 38 years, my brother and sister-in-law just had their 10 year, and my parents celebrated their 40th year of marriage. It is hard to imagine being married that long when you are only coming up on 4 years, but I can see how fast time goes by when life is constantly changing and you are living life having fun!

This past weekend Mark, my brothers, sister-in-law and myself threw my parents a well deserved party. We celebrated when we were in Italy, but this gave us a chance to show our appreciation for them with friends and family. We wanted them to see how wonderful they are and how much we truly look up to them. We have learned, "a good marriage is one which allows for change and growth in the individuals and in the way they express their love." This was easy to see by going through their photos and remembering events-we were reminded how they have gone through many years of change and have stayed united!

Mark spent a lot of time making 40 out of Christmas lights-right up his ally!

Emotions were high after we showed a wonderful video beginning with pictures of Great Grandparents.
Speeches were given by all...of course Grandpa Ralph made everyone cry!
It was great to see all our family there! We also had very close friends and it was a FULL house!
Cheers to you Mom and Dad and to many more wonderful years of marriage! Thank you!

My Perfect Little Man

Mack has turned one and since then he has turned into this whole other person-a little man. He is imitating, climbing, kissing, and being a perfect little man:). I love to see the difference between him and Avery-they are SO different and what a fun thing to watch as a parent. He has found his voice and wants to be heard! Everyday when I go to get him out of bed I cannot help but squeeze and kiss the boy! He thinks it's pretty funny and gives me the biggest kisses back...awwww! His latest passion has been driving his truck around the floors-we were trying to get him in the video below, but the camera was even more interesting.

This year I am part time, so most of their awake time, I am with them. Tonight I had a meeting with other local teachers and of course what happens????????

I am sad I missed it and had dreams about it all night! I can't wait until I get home and see it myself. What a perfect little man!

A Dog Who Lives With a One And Two Year Old

Poor Cooper...his life has changed in many ways! He went from care free days outside with his buddy Sevens to getting chased around the house by Mack and Avery. Here is new decoration for the day:

Nail Polish...Friend or Foe?

When I was little nail polish was an issue with my mom and I. I tended to not listen to her-EVER- and would get it everywhere. Not only the nail polish, but the remover. I think I have ruined two or three of their kitchen tables and other counter tops. Yet I never learned! Even today I still am careless with it...for example: Today Mark took Mack to the doctor to figure out why he is SO cranky (it was an ear infection). Since Avery and I had some alone time I asked if she wanted her nails painted.
Of course she said yes! She is so good and sits the whole time-she is even careful afterwards to let them dry. This means she is getting closer to getting pedicures with me-YES!!!!
Then I left the nail polish in reaching distance with the lid off...
You would think at 30 years old and two kids later that I would have learned-NOPE! I came around the corner to find her bent over her toes repainting them. YIKES! I quickly stopped her and told her no...but it was too late. Look closely...
Closer...
So, my question is-is this KARMA? Nail polish...Friend or Foe?

Sorry Mom!

Lazy Post

The title to this blog says it all...I am too tired these days to be creative, but I love sharing pictures!
On Sunday we went to the park to eat breakfast and then play:
We also were at the lake...Mack really discovered how much he loves corn on the cob!Now that I have some more time with my babies we have been going to the library for fun events. We went to listen to a lady sing fun songs. This Friday is Rhythm and Rhymes!

I am IN LOVE with Fall!

We have had such a HOT summer! I don't remember the last time it was this HOT-I know that most of the country felt the heat too. It was like we were all locked in our homes (unless we were in water). This weekend we stayed home-the first in a long time without anything to do. Saturday was about 100 degrees and then a storm came in that night and we woke up to the most perfect fall weather. We ate outside on the patio and on the picnic blanket, we BBQ, we (Mark) gave tractor rides, and we just spent time as a family!
We spent Sunday morning outside cleaning all our outside water toys. The water table was full of water and Dawn soap and the other side had corn starch and water (this made more of a mess, but they loved it). They spent the whole morning in their PJ's getting dirty. We gave them more baths this weekend than they usually have in a week!
Do you see the cornstarch all over her face-it was all in Mack's hair too! They then (as a team) started digging in the garden and rubbing it all over each other's heads-that took a while to get out of the hair. Needless to say...
I AM IN LOVE WITH FALL!

Our New Furry Little Friend

I AM NOT a cat person! We used to have an outdoor cat named Thor and he was wonderful-he was cute and served a purpose. We never saw a mouse or had any mole problems. It was really sad when he died last year and I have thought about getting another kitty, but wanted to wait until the kids were older so it could be more exciting.

Well...I didn't have to wait long! Something happened while we were in Italy (a lot happened actually:)) The dogs went on vacation while we were gone, so I think every wild animal decided our home was their home. Bunnies were everywhere as well as a momma cat and her kitties. Ugg! She was so skinny and we are two people who feel the need to take care of any animal, so of course we started giving her food. She lost all but one baby and they now have taken up residency in our lovely shed. Now Avery is obsessed with "The Baby" and we feed them both. We also took momma cat in the vet to get her fixed so we don't have this problem. I must say the kids love them and everyday there is a new present for us to clean up out of the shed-this means less critters around our house! They are paying their keep! Last night we got some great shots of Avery and "The Baby"...
We told her to approach it slowly, so she got on her belly:)
She LOVES "The Baby"!
There is their hole-I forgot to put the rock back before we left-that is how they got in
Here is a stand off.
The things about living in the country!
