Cleaning and scrubbing will wait ’till tomorrow, but children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I’m rocking my baby. Babies don’t keep. – Ruth Hamilton

Just a Bump

Lets recap this past weekend:

We had a friend over Friday night-check

We Ran a 5k Saturday morning-check

We went to a CARDINAL playoff game (the first without being prego or breast feeding in a few years)-check! Lets check that off multiple times! We had a blast and met up with our St. Louis friends-two of which happen to be doctors...at a children's hospital! Okay, we probably had too much fun. Not going to go into all those confessions!

Then, Sunday morning we were going to the pumpkin patch, shopping for clothes ( Mack shows a lot of butt crack and needs pants), lunch with family and then a nice nap back home!

NO WAY that Sunday happened!  But it's just a little speed bump in the grand scheme of things.

Sunday morning:

Mack was laying on the couch saying, "I don't want to do nothin-not today and not tonight!" Not even the pumpkin patch??...I knew there was something wrong. And we were right, he had a temp. We always contemplate calling the doctor because we know what they are going to say. As usual it was off to the ER. Luckily Mark is on that. Luckily we were ten minutes from his doctors. And most of all, luckily I had all my kids in one place. No, we didn't pack for this and no we didn't "prepare" for this.

I am beyond lucky to have so many people to talk to-all of which have their own issues with their families. Yet, there they are expressing concern. We are no different-a sick kid is a sick kid! Mack is just a little different and this is just a bump. We are ALL strong!! It takes a strong person to handle life! And quoting my Aunt Sharon again, "Maybe our emotions, good or bad, are what makes living so special!" I can't thank all my friends and family enough (never could in a life time), but please know I think you are all just as strong as us!

Mack had a virus that all kids are passing to each other-his body just can't handle it. So we have to be admitted to the hospital. I'm not down playing it, we are just used to it! We have a routine down, we are learning to know all the nurses and all the rooms. It is our life and we were told to expect this a few more times this winter.
Everytime... we will get through it...because it's one tiny bump in the survival of my son. He will never be 100 percent better-even as an adult, but that means nothing for his beautiful future of life!

Thanks mum and papa for the amazing support! You know when we need to drop everything and be a family. Thank you more for taking care of our babies!!!!
